Book Review: Go, Bikes, Go! (Boswell/Mostov)

Addie Boswell has taken a fun spin on the classic book Go, Dogs, Go! It has a particular cadence that’s easy to remember, as well as the illustrations. Here is a book that plays with bikes. Tall bikes. Short bikes. New bikes. Old bikes.

Your kids will enjoy reading this and seeing bikes that ride on a tight rope, or fly, or swim underwater even.

There are bikes with shoes for wheels, bikes for moms to ride with their boys, bikes that squeal, bikes that bring lots of joy. (My not so great attempt at a rhyme.) Small kids will love this because the pictures are colorful, the bikes are fun, the book is full of parents and kids—and sometimes dogs—riding bikes. Everyone who rides a bike wears a helmet, except for the guy above ride-swimming underwater. Even the dog wears a helmet, at least at the end of the book. The text is simple, so older children won’t pick this book up again and again. But toddlers can have some fun with this one.
