What Would You Like to See?

In typical AI fashion, the words in the picture don’t make sense, but you get the idea!

After twelve years of blogging with seasons of consistency and inconsistency, I’ve made a poll to see what you would like to see more of. Below are six different options. You can only choose one, but feel free to comment below on what else you would like to read. I would be happy to hear from you! I will leave this up for a week or two just to let more people take a stab at the poll. After that I’ll list the results, and we’ll see what I’ll do.

  • Bible Book Course
    • The idea would be to teach through books of the Bible in a long series of posts (similar to my incomplete Mondays with Mark). One day I would like to turn these into longer video lessons with printables and illustrations.
  • Theological Topics
    • This would be a deep dive into a particular topic of theology. For example I could summarize the “new” new creation millennialism and how it compares with other systems of theology, or what the big deal is about progressive covenantalism and how it helps us understand the Bible better,
  • Book-Centered Articles
    • These articles would focus on interesting topics in books I am either reviewing or reading. This was a lot more common and easier pre-kids, but since I like writing it’s just about making the time to do it now. Articles that highlight what I mean would be my articles on Michael Heiser’s book The Unseen Realm, Tom Schreiner’s Romans commentary, Richard Hays’ Reading Backwards, or Stephen Baugh’s EEC commentary on Ephesians.
  • A Scholar’s Devotion
    • To date I have 85 of these articles on my blog, and if you want to see more, just comment some suggestions down below. I’d be happy to reach out to new scholars or to others I don’t know about.
  • Compare/Contrast Articles
    • This would compare and contrast different view on, say, justification (see my posts on Tom Schreiner’s updated Romans commentary) the end times, baptism, the covenants, etc.
  • Popular-Level Books
    • I review a lot of academic books. There are way too many books out there on the market for the average Adam or Eve to buy, so I try to pinpoint which books are worth buying and who should buy them. But let me know if you’d like to see more popular-level books and which ones.

Please feel free to comment below if you would like to see any other of these options or even all of them. For the past while my time has been pretty maxed out, so I’ve been able to squeak out some reviews, though unfortunately that hasn’t been consistent. Now that the kids are getting older, I am able to get more space to write, and I would like to offer some helpful guidance on different topics of theology, unless you’d just prefer to head to ChatGPT. In one way I can’t compete with that. In another way, I’ll be getting my information from scholarly resources that I have available to me.

So, happy polling!

(If you know how I can make a poll that allows for multiple choices, please let me know.)
